8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2024 Toyota Venza?
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) records show six recalls affecting Venza models, covering air bag systems, an electrical drain issue, and incorrect vehicle labels. These recalls include multiple air bag-related actions (driver-side SRS wiring damage and occupant-sensing recalibration), an electrical-system recall for A/C condenser drain leakage that can short the airbag control module, and a corrected label program; many of the recalled model years range from 2008–2015. Nalley Toyota of Roswell can confirm whether your 2024 Toyota Venza is affected and arrange any free remedy at our Roswell service center.
How do I check if my 2024 Toyota Venza has an open recall?
You can check your vehicle’s recall status by entering your VIN on NHTSA.gov or by contacting Nalley Toyota of Roswell so we can run a free manufacturer recall lookup. If you prefer, bring your VIN to our service team and we will verify recalls at no charge and advise next steps; to book, schedule service with our factory-trained technicians. We also offer service financing so you can get necessary work done now and pay later if additional non-recall repairs are recommended.
How much does a 2024 Toyota Venza recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are completed free of charge to the vehicle owner under the Toyota recall program. Any remedy identified by Toyota or Southeast Toyota Distributors (SET) — including wire harness replacement, occupant-sensor recalibration, condenser housing sealing, or label replacement — will be provided at no cost when performed as a recall repair at a certified dealer. If your vehicle needs non-recall maintenance or upgrades, ask about our current service specials and financing options.
Can I get my 2024 Toyota Venza recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed by a certified franchise dealer to ensure OEM parts, factory diagnostic tools, and manufacturer-required procedures are used. Nalley Toyota of Roswell is a factory-authorized Toyota dealer with Toyota-trained technicians and OEM parts, ensuring correct repairs and proper documentation for safety, resale, and insurance records. If you have questions about independent repairs, our service advisors will explain why dealer-performed recall work preserves warranty and vehicle value and can help you schedule service.
How long does a 2024 Toyota Venza recall repair take?
Repair time varies by recall: simple label or software recalibration can take under an hour, while wiring harness replacement or module protection work may take several hours. When you contact Nalley Toyota of Roswell we’ll give an estimated turnaround based on the specific recall service required and available parts, and we’ll help you schedule appointment for a convenient time. We prioritize safety repairs and offer service financing and loaner/rental options when available to minimize disruption to your day.
Does an open recall affect my 2024 Toyota Venza's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can lower resale and trade-in value because some buyers and dealers require recall completion before purchase. Getting recalls resolved at Nalley Toyota of Roswell documents that OEM remedies were applied, preserving value and buyer confidence; visit our trade-in page for appraisal options. Completing free recall repairs protects your vehicle’s safety record, supports higher resale value, and prevents potential registration or insurance complications.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2024 Toyota Venza recall?
Open recalls are safety issues and in some states they can affect inspections or registration if they involve required safety systems like air bags or steering assist. Because several Venza recalls involve air bag systems and a possible power-steering assist issue from a shorted module, resolving recalls promptly with Nalley Toyota of Roswell helps ensure your vehicle meets safety and inspection requirements. If you’re unsure whether a recall impacts inspection, contact our service department and schedule service for a free VIN check and guidance; we also offer service financing if additional repairs are needed.

Defect

Toyota is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Avalon, Avalon HV, Venza, Camry, and Camry HV vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the drain hose for the air conditioning condenser may become clogged causing water to accumulate at the bottom of the air conditioning condenser unit housing. The accumulated water may then leak through a seam in the housing onto the air bag control module potentially resulting in a short circuit of the module.

Consequence

A short circuit may cause the air bags to become disabled or inadvertently deploy. An inadvertent airbag deployment can increase the risk of injury or the possibility of a crash. An inoperative airbag can increase the risk of injury in a severe crash. The power steering assist could also become inoperable resulting in increased steering effort and can increase the risk of a crash at low speeds.

Corrective Action

Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will seal the air conditioning condenser unit housing and install a protective cover on the airbag control module, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.
