Frequently Asked Questions

12 common questions answered

1. What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2022 Toyota Tundra?
The NHTSA has 34 recall records related to the 2022 Toyota Tundra in its data set; these entries cover components including bumpers, wheels, airbags, fuel pumps and labels. Key issues reported include resin rear step bumper brackets that can break, lugnuts or wheel studs that may loosen or detach on aftermarket Rockstar wheels, air bag ECU software and misinstalled trim that can affect curtain airbag deployment, and fuel pump/fuel tank issues that could cause engine stall. Nalley Toyota of Roswell uses NHTSA/Manufacturer information to verify open recalls and will perform any required repairs at no cost.
2. How do I check if my 2022 Toyota Tundra has an open recall?
Check your VIN at NHTSA.gov or bring your VIN to Nalley Toyota of Roswell and we will check recalls for free. You can also call Toyota customer service at the numbers listed in NHTSA notices, or schedule service and we will confirm and arrange repairs at our Roswell service center. We offer service financing and will advise you if any interim actions are recommended while parts or remedies are pending.
3. How much does a 2022 Toyota Tundra recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs for safety-related issues are free of charge to vehicle owners. Nalley Toyota of Roswell will perform recall repairs using OEM parts and factory-trained technicians at no cost under Toyota's recall program. If your vehicle needs non-recall maintenance we can discuss service specials service specials and financing options to manage costs.
4. Can I get my 2022 Toyota Tundra recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed by an authorized dealer to guarantee OEM parts and documented manufacturer remedies; a franchise dealer is the safest and proper choice. Nalley Toyota of Roswell is a certified Toyota franchise dealer with access to official remedy parts, factory diagnostics, and authorized software updates required for recalls like air bag ECU or fuel pump replacements. Using a certified dealer preserves your warranty and provides documentation that can protect resale value and insurance claims.
5. How long does a 2022 Toyota Tundra recall repair take?
Most recall repairs take between one hour and one day depending on the issue; some remedies requiring parts supply can take longer. For items such as wire harness modification for LED headlight turn signals or air bag ECU software updates, dealers typically complete the job during a normal service visit; for parts-limited remedies (example: resin bumper bracket replacement) you may receive interim notices from Toyota until parts are available. Book a visit via schedule appointment and we will give an estimated turnaround time; Nalley Toyota of Roswell offers courtesy updates and convenient loaner options when available.
6. Does an open recall affect my 2022 Toyota Tundra's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can negatively affect trade-in and resale value because dealers and buyers check NHTSA records and manufacturer remedies. Bringing recalls to a certified dealer like Nalley Toyota of Roswell and documenting completed, free recall repairs using OEM parts helps protect your vehicle's market value and avoids surprises during appraisal or sale; you can start a trade appraisal at our trade-in page. Completing recalls also reduces potential liability and ensures the vehicle is safe and compliant for inspection and sale.
7. Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2022 Toyota Tundra recall?
Some recalls — especially those affecting lamps, tires, or stability control — can lead to inspection failures in certain states if the safety-related function is compromised. Nalley Toyota of Roswell recommends resolving open recalls before inspection to avoid failure; our team will confirm recall status and perform required corrective action at no charge. If you have questions about inspection impact, contact our service department or schedule service and we will advise on needed steps.
