Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2022 Toyota Sequoia?
The NHTSA has issued 15 recalls affecting the 2022 Toyota Sequoia, covering wheels/lugnuts, electronic stability control, airbags, fuel pump and fuel tank concerns, and a legibility issue with the load carrying capacity label. These recalls include accessory 20-inch Rockstar wheel lugnuts that may crack and detach, a stability control deactivation risk from electrical interference, air bag ECU software faults that can prevent deployment, fuel pump and fuel tank issues that can cause engine stall, and a load label that may become illegible. Nalley Toyota of Roswell reviews NHTSA records daily and can verify your vehicle’s status; to book a free inspection or repair, please schedule service.
How do I check if my 2022 Toyota Sequoia has an open recall?
You can check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to Nalley Toyota of Roswell for a free VIN check and recall verification. Use your 17-character VIN at NHTSA.gov to confirm open recalls, or contact our service team and we will check for you at no charge and advise next steps. If a recall repair is required, we will notify you and help you schedule appointment with our factory-trained technicians; ask about our service financing to pay later if needed.
How much does a 2022 Toyota Sequoia recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs for the 2022 Toyota Sequoia are performed free of charge to the owner. Because these are manufacturer-initiated safety recalls (per NHTSA records), Nalley Toyota of Roswell will complete required repairs — such as replacement lugnuts, software updates, or fuel pump/tank replacements — at no cost using OEM parts and factory diagnostic tools. If additional non-recall repairs are requested, ask our service advisors about current service specials and available service financing so you can get needed work done now and pay over time.
Can I get my 2022 Toyota Sequoia recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM parts, factory-trained technicians, and proper documentation; Nalley Toyota of Roswell is the local certified Toyota dealer to perform free recall repairs in Roswell, GA. Independent shops may not have manufacturer-specific software, parts, or warranty access required to properly complete certain recall work (for example ECU software updates and fuel pump assembly replacements listed by Toyota), so a franchise dealer is the safest choice. To protect your safety, warranty, and resale value, schedule service at our certified facility — use our online scheduler to schedule service today.
How long does a 2022 Toyota Sequoia recall repair take?
Most recall repairs for the 2022 Toyota Sequoia are completed in a few hours, but some remedies (like fuel pump assembly replacements) may require parts availability and could take longer. Typical fixes such as lugnut replacement or software updates (electronic stability control or air bag ECU software) are often same-day services when parts and appointment availability align. Book a convenient time with our service team and we’ll provide an ETA; you can schedule appointment online and review current service specials or apply for service financing if you prefer pay-later options.
Does an open recall affect my 2022 Toyota Sequoia's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can negatively affect trade-in offers and buyer confidence; dealers and private buyers often check NHTSA records and VIN history during appraisal. Completing recall repairs at Nalley Toyota of Roswell documents that safety items were addressed by a certified dealer using OEM parts, which helps protect resale value and simplifies a faster trade-in process. When you’re ready, start a trade appraisal online at our sell your car page after recall work is completed to maximize value.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2022 Toyota Sequoia recall?
Some recalls—especially those affecting safety systems—can cause an inspection failure depending on state rules; unresolved air bag or stability control issues increase that risk. Nalley Toyota of Roswell can verify recalls and complete required repairs to help you pass inspections in Roswell, Alpharetta, and the greater Atlanta area. To avoid inspection delays, please schedule service and ask about our inspection-friendly service options and service financing if needed.
