Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2021 Toyota C-HR?
The NHTSA has issued 5 recalls affecting the 2021 Toyota C-HR, covering parking brake, seat belt assemblies, load capacity label, and rear axle hub issues. These recalls include an electronic parking brake issue that can prevent the EPB from applying or releasing, rear seat belt locking mechanism concerns for certain production dates, an illegible load carrying capacity label, and potentially loose rear axle hub bearing bolts that could damage brakes or cause a wheel to detach. Nalley Toyota of Roswell uses NHTSA recall data and factory diagnostics to confirm whether your vehicle is affected and to perform required, free repairs.
How do I check if my 2021 Toyota C-HR has an open recall?
You can check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your VIN to Nalley Toyota of Roswell and we will check for open recalls at no charge. To verify yourself, enter your 17-digit VIN at NHTSA.gov; to have our team confirm and explain next steps, schedule service and we will run the official manufacturer check for free. We also advise checking for email or mailed notices from Toyota and calling Toyota customer service when needed; Nalley Toyota of Roswell staff can help you interpret any notice and arrange repairs.
How much does a 2021 Toyota C-HR recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are performed free of charge to the vehicle owner. All remedies for NHTSA recalls—such as ECU programming updates, replacement seat belt assemblies, corrected load capacity labels, or replacement rear axle hub assemblies—are provided at no cost to you when completed at an authorized dealer like Nalley Toyota of Roswell. If you are exploring other service work at the same time, ask about current service specials and our service financing options so you can get necessary maintenance now and pay over time.
Can I get my 2021 Toyota C-HR recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs should be performed by a certified franchise dealer to ensure OEM parts and factory procedures are used. While some independent shops may perform certain repairs, manufacturer recall campaigns require specific parts, programming, and documentation that only an authorized Toyota dealer like Nalley Toyota of Roswell is guaranteed to provide for free and in compliance with Toyota and NHTSA requirements. For your safety and to preserve warranty and resale records, we recommend you schedule appointment at our service center so factory-trained technicians complete the work and record the repair with the manufacturer.
How long does a 2021 Toyota C-HR recall repair take?
Repair time varies by recall type but many recall remedies are completed in under a few hours, while parts replacements may require next-day appointments. Programming updates like the skid control ECU update for the electronic parking brake can often be completed the same day; replacement of rear axle hub assemblies or seat belt assemblies may take longer depending on parts availability. To minimize downtime, please schedule service with Nalley Toyota of Roswell—our team will provide an estimated turnaround time when you book and can advise on loaner/ride options when available.
Does an open recall affect my 2021 Toyota C-HR's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can negatively affect trade-in offers and buyer confidence because some dealers and private buyers check NHTSA records before purchasing. Resolving recalls at Nalley Toyota of Roswell protects resale and trade-in value by documenting manufacturer-specified repairs using OEM parts and factory-trained technicians; once completed, we can provide official service records to present to prospective buyers or trade-in appraisers. If you plan to sell or trade, consider addressing open recalls first—use our online trade tool at sell-your-car-online.htm to get an appraisal after repairs are completed.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2021 Toyota C-HR recall?
Open recalls are safety-related and may result in inspection or registration complications depending on state rules and the nature of the defect. While not all recalls automatically fail an inspection, defects such as seat belts that may not lock properly or loose rear axle bolts pose clear safety risks and should be corrected immediately at a certified dealer to avoid potential inspection or insurance issues. Contact Nalley Toyota of Roswell or schedule service and we will confirm whether an open recall could affect your state inspection and perform required repairs free of charge.
