Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2019 Toyota Sequoia?
The NHTSA lists 15 recall entries affecting the 2019 Toyota Sequoia covering wheels, stability control, air bag systems, fuel pump and tank, load label, and lugnuts. Key issues include lugnuts that may crack and detach (wheel and lugnut recalls), electronic stability control deactivation, air bag ECU software faults, and fuel pump/tank failures that can lead to engine stall. These recalls come from Toyota, Southeast Toyota Distributors (SET), Gulf States Toyota (GST), and are documented in NHTSA records.
How do I check if my 2019 Toyota Sequoia has an open recall?
You can check your vehicle's recall status using your VIN at NHTSA.gov or by contacting Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371. Nalley Toyota of Roswell will also check recalls for you at no charge when you schedule service. Bring your VIN or registration to our service drive and our factory-trained technicians will confirm any open campaigns and advise next steps.
How much does a 2019 Toyota Sequoia recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are performed free of charge at a certified franchise dealer like Nalley Toyota of Roswell. We use OEM parts and factory-trained technicians so your recall work is covered by the manufacturer; there is no fee for the recall remedy itself. If unrelated services are requested, ask about current service specials or our service financing to pay over time.
Can I get my 2019 Toyota Sequoia recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM parts, correct procedures, and free remedy under the manufacturer program. Independent shops cannot always access manufacturer-specific software updates or warranty recall parts; for software updates to the electronic stability control or air bag ECU, dealer service is required. Nalley Toyota of Roswell is a certified Toyota franchise dealer and provides free recall repairs, OEM diagnostics, and manufacturer-trained technicians.
How long does a 2019 Toyota Sequoia recall repair take?
Most software updates and label replacements take a single service visit; component replacements can vary but are often completed within a few hours to one business day. Fuel pump or fuel tank replacements may take longer depending on parts availability, though Toyota has issued interim notices and will replace affected assemblies free of charge when parts are available. To minimize wait time, schedule service with Nalley Toyota of Roswell and ask about available loaner vehicles or priority scheduling.
Does an open recall affect my 2019 Toyota Sequoia's trade-in or resale value?
Yes—an unresolved recall can lower trade-in and resale value because many buyers and dealers check NHTSA recall history before purchase. Having recalls completed at an authorized dealer documents that the vehicle is compliant and protected, preserving resale value and marketability. Use our online trade tool to get an estimate and finalize value after recall repairs: sell your car online.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2019 Toyota Sequoia recall?
Some recalls, especially those affecting safety systems like the air bag ECU or stability control, can impact inspections or vehicle compliance in certain states. Resolving recalls promptly protects safety, helps you pass inspections, and reduces insurance or registration complications. Contact Nalley Toyota of Roswell to confirm whether a specific open recall could affect your state inspection and to schedule appointment to have it addressed.
