What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2019 Toyota Prius Prime?
The NHTSA has issued 2 recalls affecting the brake booster pump on the 2019 Toyota Prius Prime. Both recalls involve a potential failure of the brake booster pump that can deactivate the Vehicle Stability Control system and reduce braking assist, increasing crash risk. Toyota began remedying these recalls on September 20, 2019; dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the brake booster pump free of charge under recall numbers K1L/K0L (Toyota). For authoritative details you can reference NHTSA records or contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371; Nalley Toyota of Roswell can also verify your vehicle status and help you schedule service.
How do I check if my 2019 Toyota Prius Prime has an open recall?
Run your VIN at NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to Nalley Toyota of Roswell and we'll check the recall status for free. You can enter your 17-character VIN at the NHTSA recall lookup page to confirm open actions, or call our service team and we will verify using OEM tools. If you prefer in-person help, visit our service center in Roswell and we will check and advise on the next steps at no cost, then help you schedule service if a remedy is required.
How much does a 2019 Toyota Prius Prime recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs for the 2019 Toyota Prius Prime are performed free of charge by authorized dealers. Because the brake booster pump recall is a manufacturer safety recall, Toyota covers parts and labor; Nalley Toyota of Roswell uses OEM parts and factory-trained technicians to complete the repair at no cost to you. If additional unrelated maintenance is needed, ask about our current service specials and service financing options so you can get necessary work done now and pay over time.
Can I get my 2019 Toyota Prius Prime recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed by an authorized franchise dealer to ensure OEM parts, proper diagnostics, and documented completion; we strongly recommend a certified dealer like Nalley Toyota of Roswell. Independent shops cannot provide the manufacturer-authorized recall remedy record that many insurers and future buyers expect; repairs done by a franchise dealer keep your service history consistent and preserve warranty and safety compliance. Our factory-trained technicians use Toyota-approved diagnostic tools and genuine OEM parts to complete the brake booster pump replacement and update manufacturer records at no cost to you.
How long does a 2019 Toyota Prius Prime recall repair take?
Most brake booster pump inspections and, when necessary, replacements can be completed in a few hours, though actual time varies by dealer workload and parts availability. At Nalley Toyota of Roswell we strive for fast turnaround and will provide a timeline when you schedule service; if parts are required, we prioritize recall repairs and notify owners when their vehicle is ready. We also offer loaner options, customer waiting areas, and transparent communication so you can plan around the service appointment.
Does an open recall affect my 2019 Toyota Prius Prime's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can negatively impact trade-in value and resale prospects because many dealers and buyers check NHTSA records and seller disclosures. Resolving recalls at a certified dealer like Nalley Toyota of Roswell protects resale value by documenting that manufacturer-required safety repairs were completed using OEM parts and factory-trained technicians. If you are considering a trade, visit our appraisal page at sell-your-car-online.htm and ask us to confirm that recalls are cleared before completing your appraisal or sale.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2019 Toyota Prius Prime recall?
While state inspection rules vary, an unresolved safety recall — especially one that affects braking or stability systems — can create compliance problems and may lead to failed inspections in some jurisdictions. The brake booster pump recall impacts the vehicle stability control and braking assist; leaving it unaddressed raises safety and regulatory concerns, so we advise scheduling dealer recall repair promptly. Contact Nalley Toyota of Roswell to verify your recall status and schedule service to ensure your vehicle meets safety expectations for inspections and insurance requirements.
