8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback?
The NHTSA lists three recalls that affect the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback: a fuel pump assembly issue, a potentially illegible load carrying capacity label, and a back-up lights wiring concern (per NHTSA records). Fuel pump: a failing fuel pump assembly can cause engine stall while driving, raising crash risk; dealers will replace the pump with an improved assembly free of charge (Toyota recall 20TA02). Load carrying label: some vehicles had labels that may become illegible, which could lead to overloading; dealers will provide corrected labels free of charge (GST recall 19R1). Back-up lights: a rear hatch wire harness connector may be damaged in assembly and cause backup lights to fail on certain Corolla Hatchback models; dealers will replace the rear hatch harness free of charge (Toyota recalls 20TB07 / 20TA07). All recall details above are drawn from the NHTSA database; Nalley Toyota of Roswell can confirm your vehicle’s status and next steps.
How do I check if my 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback has an open recall?
Check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or contact our service team for a free VIN recall check. You can locate your 17-digit VIN on the driver-side dash or vehicle registration and enter it at NHTSA.gov to see active recalls tied to your vehicle. Or bring your vehicle to Nalley Toyota of Roswell and we will verify recalls for you at no charge — you can schedule service online and we’ll confirm any open campaigns.
How much does a 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs for covered issues are performed free of charge at authorized dealers. If your 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback is covered by a recall (fuel pump, load label, or back-up lights), Toyota-authorized dealers like Nalley Toyota of Roswell will perform the required repairs at no cost to you. If you need other non-recall maintenance, ask about our current service specials or service financing to pay over time.
Can I get my 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM parts and factory procedures are used; this preserves warranty and safety compliance. Independent shops cannot perform official manufacturer recall remedies on behalf of Toyota; Nalley Toyota of Roswell uses factory-trained technicians, OEM parts, and Toyota-approved diagnostics to complete recall work properly. For certified, free recall service near Roswell, GA, schedule service with our service center.
How long does a 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback recall repair take?
Repair time varies by recall; many recall repairs take less than a day but some remedies require parts availability and could take longer. The fuel pump replacement may take several hours; a label replacement or wiring harness swap is often completed more quickly — our technicians will provide an estimated turnaround when you schedule appointment. Nalley Toyota of Roswell offers loaner options and flexible scheduling to minimize disruption while your vehicle is being repaired.
Does an open recall affect my 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback's trade-in or resale value?
Open recalls can reduce buyer confidence and may affect trade-in offers or resale value if unresolved. Many dealerships and private buyers check NHTSA recall status before purchase; having recalls completed by an authorized dealer protects value and shows the vehicle has received OEM repairs. If you’re preparing to sell or trade, visit our appraisal page to protect your value: sell-your-car-online.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback recall?
Some recalls affect systems that can cause inspection failures depending on state rules; unresolved safety defects may be flagged during inspections. For example, a nonworking backup light (as noted in NHTSA files) could be a reason for inspection failure in some jurisdictions; address recalls promptly at an authorized dealer to avoid inspection or registration complications.
