Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2018 Toyota Prius c?
The NHTSA has issued 2 recalls that can affect Prius c vehicles from related model years; one involves the Tire Pressure Monitoring System and one involves the hybrid DC-DC converter. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) issue originally affected certain 2015 Prius C vehicles where the TPMS may be improperly calibrated; the DC-DC converter recall (Toyota recall K0K) for 2018–2019 Prius c vehicles can cause loss of auxiliary battery power and may lead to loss of drive.
How do I check if my 2018 Toyota Prius c has an open recall?
You can check your vehicle’s recall status using your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your VIN to Nalley Toyota of Roswell and we will check for free. If you prefer, call our service team or schedule service and our factory-trained technicians will confirm open recalls and advise next steps.
How much does a 2018 Toyota Prius c recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are performed at no cost to the vehicle owner; the corrective actions listed by NHTSA are free of charge at a certified dealer. Nalley Toyota of Roswell uses OEM parts and factory diagnostics to complete recall repairs; ask about our service financing if you need additional maintenance at the same visit.
Can I get my 2018 Toyota Prius c recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by a certified franchise dealer to ensure OEM parts and factory procedures; we strongly recommend scheduling recall service with a Toyota dealer. Nalley Toyota of Roswell has factory-trained technicians and OEM diagnostic tools to correctly replace or recalibrate components like the DC-DC converter or TPMS per manufacturer instructions.
How long does a 2018 Toyota Prius c recall repair take?
Repair time varies by recall: TPMS recalibration is often completed within an hour, while DC-DC converter replacement may take a few hours depending on parts availability. We recommend you schedule service so we can confirm parts and provide a precise estimate; ask about our express options and service specials for convenience.
Does an open recall affect my 2018 Toyota Prius c's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can reduce trade-in offers and may deter private buyers, since many buyers and dealers check NHTSA records before purchase. Resolving recalls at Nalley Toyota of Roswell protects resale value; you can get an appraisal or start a trade process via our sell-your-car-online tool after repairs.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2018 Toyota Prius c recall?
Open recalls are safety-related issues tracked by NHTSA and can lead to compliance or safety concerns during inspections in some states; addressing recalls reduces inspection and insurance risk. Bring your vehicle to Nalley Toyota of Roswell for a free recall check and we will advise whether a specific open recall could affect your state inspection.
