Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2018 Toyota 4Runner?
The NHTSA records show 22 recalls affecting the 2018 Toyota 4Runner, covering fuel pumps, airbags, hood accessories, hood scoops, tailpipe/exhaust tips, load-capacity labels, and accessory equipment. Key safety items include two fuel pump recalls that may cause engine stall, seven air bag inflator recalls with risk of inflator rupture, and multiple accessory recalls (hood scoop, exhaust tip, grille overlay) that can detach and become road hazards. These recalls are documented by the NHTSA and Toyota/SET/Gulf States; Nalley Toyota of Roswell can confirm your vehicle's open recalls and perform free repairs.
How do I check if my 2018 Toyota 4Runner has an open recall?
You can immediately check your vehicle by VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring it to Nalley Toyota of Roswell and we will check for free. To get help from our team, schedule service online and our factory-trained technicians will verify recall status using OEM diagnostic tools and Toyota systems. We recommend checking now—recall repairs are free and prioritized at our Roswell dealership to keep you safe on the road.
How much does a 2018 Toyota 4Runner recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are performed free of charge to the vehicle owner. Nalley Toyota of Roswell uses genuine OEM parts and factory-trained technicians to complete recall repairs at no cost under Toyota's recall programs. If you need convenience options, ask about our service specials (service specials) and service financing so you can get any additional maintenance now and pay later.
Can I get my 2018 Toyota 4Runner recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by an authorized Toyota dealer to ensure OEM parts, correct procedures, and a warranty-covered remedy. Independent shops generally cannot obtain the specific recall parts or follow Toyota's required repair procedure and documentation—only a certified franchise dealer like Nalley Toyota of Roswell can guarantee a proper manufacturer recall remedy. For safety and resale protection, bring your vehicle to your local certified Toyota dealer for recall service: schedule service today.
How long does a 2018 Toyota 4Runner recall repair take?
Repair time varies by recall: many accessory fixes or label replacements can be completed in under an hour, while fuel pump or air bag inflator replacements may take longer depending on parts availability. When you schedule service with Nalley Toyota of Roswell we will provide an estimated turnaround time and prioritize safety repairs; Toyota sometimes issues interim notices while a remedy is prepared (for example, fuel pump recalls originally included interim notifications until parts were available). We offer loaner options and service financing; if you need faster service, ask our advisors about service specials (service specials) and appointment availability.
Does an open recall affect my 2018 Toyota 4Runner's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can lower trade-in offers and make buyers wary because recalls are visible in NHTSA and vehicle history checks. Having recalls completed at a certified Toyota dealer like Nalley Toyota of Roswell protects resale value and documents safety compliance for prospective buyers and financiers. If you're ready to sell or trade, visit our trade-in page (sell your car online) and bring proof of completed recall repairs to maximize value.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2018 Toyota 4Runner recall?
Some recalls involve safety equipment that may impact inspections or legal safety requirements; while not all recalls automatically fail an inspection, unaddressed safety recalls can lead to failed inspections in some jurisdictions. To avoid inspection issues, have Nalley Toyota of Roswell verify recall status and complete required repairs; our factory-certified technicians will document the repair for inspection records. Schedule an appointment to confirm compliance and keep your vehicle inspection-ready: schedule service.
