Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2016 Toyota Tundra?
The NHTSA has issued 34 recalls affecting the 2016 Toyota Tundra covering components such as bumpers, wheels/lugnuts, airbags, fuel pumps, fuel tanks, tires, labels, and more. Key safety issues include resin rear bumper brackets that can break, accessory wheel lugnuts that may crack or detach, air bag mounting or ECU issues, and fuel-pump or fuel-tank concerns that can cause engine stall. Nalley Toyota of Roswell can confirm which of these recalls apply to your vehicle and perform all manufacturer recall repairs free of charge.
How do I check if my 2016 Toyota Tundra has an open recall?
Use your VIN on the NHTSA.gov recall lookup or bring your VIN to Nalley Toyota of Roswell for a free check. You can also call Toyota customer service or Southeast Toyota Distributors customer lines listed in official notices, but our service team will verify and explain any open actions at no cost. If you need help, schedule service and our factory-trained technicians will check your VIN, explain remedies, and proceed with certified repairs.
How much does a 2016 Toyota Tundra recall repair cost?
Recall repairs for the 2016 Toyota Tundra are free of charge when performed under the manufacturer’s recall program. Nalley Toyota of Roswell uses OEM parts and factory-trained technicians to complete recall work at no cost to the vehicle owner. If additional non-recall maintenance is desired, ask about our current service specials and available service financing to pay over time.
Can I get my 2016 Toyota Tundra recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Manufacturer recall repairs must be completed by an authorized dealership to guarantee OEM parts and documented warranty compliance; a certified Toyota dealer is strongly recommended. Independent shops may perform certain fixes, but only a franchise dealer like Nalley Toyota of Roswell ensures factory-trained technicians, OEM parts, and that the repair is recorded with Toyota and the NHTSA. To be safe and preserve warranty, safety compliance, and resale value, schedule service at our local Toyota recall center in Roswell.
How long does a 2016 Toyota Tundra recall repair take?
Repair time varies by recall: many label, lugnut, or wiring harness fixes can take under a day; component replacements or parts-wait situations (for example some bumper remedies) may take longer. Nalley Toyota of Roswell will provide an estimated turnaround when you schedule appointment, and we prioritize safety repairs to minimize downtime. We offer service conveniences, including loaner options and flexible scheduling; ask about service financing and our current service specials.
Does an open recall affect my 2016 Toyota Tundra's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can reduce buyer confidence and may negatively affect trade-in or resale value; many dealerships and private buyers check NHTSA recall status before purchase. Having recalls completed at Nalley Toyota of Roswell documents the repair with OEM parts and factory-trained technicians, protecting resale value and simplifying trade-in appraisal. To protect value, consider scheduling service and a quick appraisal through our trade-in page: sell your car online.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2016 Toyota Tundra recall?
Some recalls — especially those involving lights, airbags, or braking and stability systems — can cause inspection failures in certain states if related safety equipment is not functional. The safest route is to resolve open recalls promptly; Nalley Toyota of Roswell will complete manufacturer recall repairs free and ensure your vehicle meets safety standards for inspection. If you’re unsure, schedule service and our technicians will verify road-readiness and offer any necessary follow-up under warranty.
