Make Sure Your Tires Are Protected This Winter

Have you been counting down the days until you big holiday vacation? Well, before you take off to see the family or go on that well deserved getaway, it’s important to take some simple steps to make sure your car is ready for the journey. Nothing ruins a trip like a broken-down car, so we put together a list of tips to help you out on your way.

1. Check Your Tires’ Air Pressure
Before you hit the road make sure your tires are properly inflated. An underinflated tire can cause serious danger to you and your passengers, and a tire that is overinflated can be just as bad. Consult your owner’s manual to find the correct psi for your tire and then fill your tire to that amount.

2. Get Your Tires Rotated

The average driver doesn’t think about it very often, but it is supremely important to get your tires rotated on a regular basis. Why? Tires wear unevenly, front wheels and back wheels perform different tasks, so they will wear differently. It’s fine for a short period of time, but eventually you will want to rotate the front and back tires. Otherwise, they will wear down at an accelerated rate and you’ll be spending money on new tires much quicker than you should be.

3. Align Tires

Have you noticed your car start to veer to one side while driving? That’s not good. You can get that taken care of by getting a tire alignment. This is especially important when first buying a new car. Another sign you need to get your tires aligned is if your steering wheel starts shaking. That is a telltale sign that it’s time to take your car in to be looked at.

If you want to have your tires checked by professionals before you take off this summer, bring it in to our experts at Nalley Toyota Roswell.
